About Genomate Health

Genomate Health is a precision oncology company headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. We help patients and clinical institutions interpret complex genomic and medical data to guide cancer treatment decisions and maximize the opportunity that the patient receives the optimal treatment. Our proprietary AI approach, combined with expert review, delivers high-quality second opinions and personalized insights for oncology patients seeking clarity in their care journey.

Genomate is an advanced computational technology designed to support oncology second-opinion workflows by analyzing complex tumor genomic and clinical data and generating structured output to inform physician review. The technology has been evaluated using multiple datasets and described in peer-reviewed medical journals. Clinical recommendations are provided by licensed physicians exercising independent medical judgment; Genomate’s software output is informational and does not replace professional judgment. As we continue to develop the technology, we want to provide access to patients who need help today and thus seek partner oncologists interested in using Genomate’s innovative medical technology to help cancer patients.

Role Overview

As a Contract Oncologist, you will provide virtual second-opinion consultations to Florida patients who submit their medical records and genomic data through the Genomate platform. You will review patient-provided information, review and contextualize the Genomate report (software output) as one input into your independent clinical assessment, consult with Genomate clinical team members (licensed clinicians) as appropriate, and deliver a clear clinical interpretation and recommendations in a telehealth consultation.

This role is perfect for oncologists seeking flexible, remote clinical work that contributes meaningfully to patient understanding and decision-making.

This role provides consultative second opinions to Florida-based patients and does not replace the patient’s treating oncologist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review patient-uploaded medical records, pathology reports, and existing genomic test results.
  • Evaluate and contextualize the Genomate software-based report and expert interpretation.
  • Conduct telehealth second-opinion consultations with patients located in Florida
  • Provide evidence-based guidance regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and further questions patients may ask their treating oncologist.
  • Document your clinical assessment and provide a summary for the patient’s use with their care team.
  • Uphold the highest standards of clinical quality, professionalism, and patient communication.
  • Maintain independent clinical judgment and sole responsibility for medical decision-making and clinical documentation, while collaborating with Genomate’s non-clinical support and operations teams.

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO with an active license to practice medicine in Florida
  • Board certification (or eligibility) in Medical Oncology
  • At least 3 years of post-training clinical experience
  • Strong familiarity with molecular oncology, precision medicine, and interpretation of NGS reports
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered mindset
  • Malpractice insurance coverage appropriate for telehealth and consultative oncology services in Florida

Preferred:

  • Experience providing second opinions or tele-oncology
  • Academic or community oncology background with strong interpretive skills
  • Experience working with molecular tumor boards or complex genomic cases
  • License to practice medicine in multiple states would provide the candidate a strong advantage

What We Offer

  • Flexible scheduling: work as much or as little as you prefer
  • Fully remote workflow with operational support
  • Fair market value per-case compensation
  • No billing, insurance, or administrative headaches. Genomate can provide administrative support (intake coordination, scheduling, and case logistics) and access to the software platform.
  • Opportunity to shape a next-generation precision oncology service
  • Mission-driven work: empowering patients with clarity and high-quality insights

Additional Opportunities

  • Possibility to work fully remote from any location, provided services are delivered to patients located in Florida (and other jurisdictions where you are licensed or otherwise authorized to practice).
  • Flexible role, with resources available for professional development.
  • Possibility for growth in a fast-paced, high potential international company.
  • Compensation according to experience.

Contract Structure

This is an independent contractor (1099) position. Physicians maintain their own malpractice coverage and clinical autonomy. Genomate provides optional administrative support, patient scheduling, and the software interpretation platform. Compensation is a per-case fee determined in advance based on fair market value considerations.

Due to the expected large number of applications, we will contact only shortlisted candidates.
